Causes and Effects of Uncontrolled Urbanization

If you are an urban dweller, you may know the real meaning of urbanization. 1….However……, this does not always indicate your sufficient insight in the “uncontrolled urbanization” topic too. To form a causal chain, it is right to say that more jobs, more services in the urban side and absence of land in the countryside force people to migrate to larger cities which brings about uncontrolled urbanization. 2…..Besides….., some problems arise such as unemployment, inadequacy of infrastructure/services and some environmentally unwanted events as well as unpleasant demographic incidents.

3……Furthermore…….., it is a good point to dig up the reasons for people to come to larger cities. First of all, by all accounts, cities are perceived to offer a wide variety of job opportunities on the grounds that there are very different branches of businesses in cities. Inasmuch as unemployment level is hugely high in the rural areas and the work is only about farming in contrast to countless business sectors in chief cities, more and more people choose searching for their chances in the metropolis.

4……In addition………., comes another significant reason: There are better services in cities. As a matter of fact, transportation is extremely developed so as to make use of time efficiently. Medical services are supported with the latest technological improvements, there are unbelievably modern hospitals. 5………………, education is taken into account seriously. There are very high-quality schools with excellent teachers, teaching with up-to-date techniques. None of these can be found in the rural areas, at this stage.

6…………As a result of………………. factors causing migration to big cities, there is a strong push factor stemming from absence of enough land. It would be very hard and useless to cultivate the land if it is too small to make an agricultural production. One important thing triggers this incident increasingly during the last years; namely, division of land. To explain, in the rural areas when someone dies, the inheritance would usually be the land. 7……Consequently……, the land is divided into many parts due to the fact that in the countryside it is common to have lots of children and they all have rights to take one part of the inherited land. 8……Nevertheless……….., what they get are useless small lands rather than a gigantic land which is capable of making a great deal of agricultural production itself. The inability to do the only thing, farming, again brings about migration to big cities with the hopes of making money.

As mentioned earlier, all these facts and figures necessitate uncontrolled urbanization, in the midst of the causal chain. 9………On the whole……………, what are the side effects and drawbacks of this growth

Literature- Individual Task

In today’s class our literature teacher asked us to check on her blog an activity she asked us to complete in this first class. This are some questions about responsibility and how being a responsible question affects our daily life.

This are my answers to this questions:

  • How would you define a responsible person?

I define a responsible person as someone who cares and is conscious about what he/she is doing. A responsible person is one who takes awareness of his/her actions and is very careful and thoughtful about their own decisions. A responsible person is someone who takes precautions before doing things in order to avoid unexpected situations. A responsible person is also someone who sees the consequences that our actions have so makes an effort and takes time to accomplish their tasks/jobs.

  • Are you a responsible person? Why or why not? Give examples of people you know in your personal life or in the public domain who are responsible. How do these individuals support your definition?

I don’t have an exact answer to if I am responsible person or not; it depends. On the one hand, I consider myself a responsible person concerning school stuff. Like for example doing the tasks that are given as homework, studying for tests, making an effort on learning, etc. Although, on the other hand, I don’t tend to be responsible about my belongings. With this I mean that I always forget things cause I get very distracted so I use to arrive late at important events, or forget important things. I have to confess that while I wrote my definition about how I define a responsible person I was “inspiring” my answer one person: my mom. My mom is an extremely responsible person who, as my definition says, is very conscious and cares a lot about what she is doing.  She is very thoughtful about her actions and takes awareness of her decisions.

  • How does one learn to become a responsible person?

I believe that someone learns to become a responsible person when he/she starts to care about what he/she is doing. I mean if you like and care about what you are doing you pay more attention and put much more effort on what you are doing. Also I consider that someone becomes a responsible person when he/she becomes aware of the consequences that their decisions have and how not being responsible will affect their future.  I believe that the “teachers” that make us become responsible persons are two. On the one hand, I believe that we are our own teachers, I mean, as we start to realize that not being responsible brings consequences, we start to take conscious of our actions and start changing them. On the other hand, I believe that we need to have someone who “pushes” us to be a responsible person. This can be the school which comes which huge responsibilities that we have to achieve in order to learn and pass the term, or a job which demands us a lot of work in which we need to take responsibilities of in order to succeed and get what we aspire to.

  • Is being responsible a character trait that you value a lot?
    Why or why not?

I consider that being responsible is a very important character trait as it will be useful for every aspect of your life. I consider this as being responsible is very important in order for us to organize and help not only others but ourselves too. If you a responsible person you will be able to achieve what you desire easily than people who aren’t. Besides, if you are a responsible person you will have much more opportunities than others who aren’t as responsibility is a very important quality that a person needs to have in other to be successful on what they are doing.

  • The Golden Rule is “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” What does this statement mean? Can you think of a situation in your own life in which you used this statement as the guiding principle for the action that you took? If “yes,” explain.

I think that this statement means that every action or decision you make for others, you should do it taking into consideration how would you like others to do it for you. With this it means that we should do things for others with as much effort as we do it for ourselves. If I have to think some situations in which I have used this statement as the guiding principle for an action I took, I would say when helping a friend. With this I mean in every situation; it can be at school when someone asks me to explain something I try to do it as good as I can, and try to explain as well and as clear as I would like to be explained myself. Besides, when I am gathering with friends and they ask me for advice or comfort I try to help them as I would like to be comforted when I am feeling sad.
